Academy Day Program

Academy Day is an optional aspect of Coastal Academy's PSP (Private School Satellite Program) designed to provide added enrichment to your homeschooling experience through group activities with other like-minded families. Over 80% of our families participate in our Academy Day Program.

We meet on the first and third Fridays of each month from Sept - June at: Baycities Church-Lomita, 2043 Lomita Blvd., Lomita, CA 90717. Opening Assembly with flag salutes, prayer, and announcements begins at 9:45am and classes run from 10am - noon.

Children's Program: 

Academy Day provides group educational activities and opportunities for social interaction. Students select two classes each semester from a variety of elective courses. Nursery childcare and pre-school classes are offered during both hours on Academy Day.

Parents' Program: 

Academy Day is a source of mutual support, training, and information. On Academy Day, parents assist or teach in one of the children's classes for one hour and for the second hour are welcome to a relaxed time of fellowship. Most choose to attend parent training sessions on topics including: teaching, parenting, and child development. Parents are required to complete a minimum of 6 hours per year of parent/teacher training.
